The digging depressions are watered, however, the tail spills on some are exposed. These photos were taken October 19, 1999, between 9am and 1pm. Flow ranged from 116.0 and 125.6 KCFS and the tailwater elevations ranged from 11.0 to 11.8 ft. The spawning area and redds are primarily between the sampling crew and the mainland shore (on the right side of most of the photos). Today, November 1, 1999 the tailwater elevations were again down to 11.0 with flows at 124.7 to 124.9 KCFS. 35 redds were counted in this area. 10 redds were observed at the head of the Ives Pierce channel and downstream along side Pierce island.
