In 1999 flows in the Columbia River were much higher and these counts may be low due to high water levels and poor visiblity. On November 13, 2000 a series of photographs were taken. Flow volumes, GPS readings and water temperatures were recorded at the locations of the various seeps. Flows from Bonneville dam were 129 KCFS.
Included are two maps: one of the spawning area and one of the general location in reference to the I-205 bridge.
At this site on November 13, 2000, 4 live chum were actively spawning and 3 redds were visible. On November 20, 2000 the area was surveyed again. The live chum were missing and one of the three redds was de-watered. On November 27 and 28, 2000 a total of 37 live chum were actively spawning in this area. Visibility was poor due to swells and wind chop on the water. Nine redds were GPS'd and recorded.
