NOTES:

  • This query is for historic, traditional counts database. It allows you to query sites that were established fish counting sites prior to 2000. Ten year average data are calculated for these sites and can be queried here.

  • Two fish counting sites were added after the year 2000. These two sites are Willamette Falls Dam and Wanapum Dam. To query historical data for these sites click here.

  • Steelhead includes the subset Wild Steelhead.

  • For Historical Data (past years), there were days where no adult fish were counted at the ladders. On these days, we did not add a record to our database. If a zero count adult salmon date occurred during the counting season (varies by dam), then it can be assumed that there were zero fish counted for all adult salmon and steelhead species at the ladder in question. To see the counting schedule for each dam refer to the adult metadata.

  • Wild Steelhead counts begin in 1994, but the data is missing for 1995; There are no wild steelhead counts at Priest Rapids Dam.

  • Shad counts not available for Rock Island, Rocky Reach and Wells Dam. No shad counts at JDA 2004 to present. Shad counts only available from 1992 to present. For Chum or Pink Salmon see Adult Returns for Columbia and Snake River Dams for annual counts at Bonneville Dam
